Leadership and Staff
Advocates for Ohio’s Future is guided by a Steering Committee of leaders from 29 nonprofit human services policy, advocacy and provider organizations that strive to strengthen families and communities through public funding for health, human services, and early care & education.
Coalition Manager
Sam Zern is the Coalition Manager of Advocates for Ohio’s Future. Sam spent two years as the Health Policy Fellow and a registered lobbyist for the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio, representing more than 7,000 physicians and medical students. Prior to that, Sam worked in the Ohio reproductive rights movement as an organizer while also completing her Master of Public Health at Kent State University. In the years between her undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University and her masters, Sam was a journalist in Pennsylvania and Ohio, covering state policy and public health, which is what ultimately set her on the path to health and human services coalition work.
